$10,000 RETENTION INCENTIVE ELIGIBILITY 1. If candidate possesses an Associate's Degree, equivalent (i.e. 60 credits), or higher degree from an accredited college/university):

• $5,000 will be paid upon hire
• $5,000 will be paid upon successful completion of probation as a Certified Officer

2. If candidate only possesses a High School Diploma or Equivalent:

• $5,000 will be paid upon hire
• $2,500 will be paid upon successful completion of probation as a Certified Officer
• $2,500 will be paid upon successful completion of (5) years of service as a Certified Officer and possession of an Associate's Degree, equivalent (i.e. 60 credits) or higher degree from an accredited college/university

This Retention Incentive is in addition to the State of Florida $5,000 Recruitment Bonus REPAYMENT OF RETENTION INCENTIVE Applicants must meet all recruitment requirements and hiring standards Incentive is subject to applicable payroll taxes All incentive monies stated above will require 100% repayment if employment ends for any reason within five (5) years from the date of successful completion of probation as a Certified Officer (payment must be made within a two (2) year timeframe)

SALARY $70, 215 - $113,740 Continuous police officer experience - begin at a step equivalent to the years of service up to a maximum of step 3 An additional pay step will be added to the starting salary with an Associate's Degree, equivalent (i.e. 60 credits) or higher degree from an accredited college/university Candidates currently attending a State of Florida Comparative Compliance course shall receive reimbursement for the course upon successful completion of the FTO program

General Statement of Job Under general supervision, performs general-duty police work in the protection of life and property, the prevention of crime, the apprehension of criminal suspects, and the general enforcement of laws and ordinances in a designated area on an assigned shift. May be responsible for various areas of assignment as indicated in the "Illustrative Examples of Work" below. Reports to a Police Sergeant or officer of higher rank.

All applicants must: Possess High School Diploma or Equivalent; Possess an out-of-state Law Enforcement Certification; Have the ability to enroll in the State of Florida Comparative Compliance course OR be currently enrolled in a State of Florida Comparative Compliance course OR possess a State of Florida Comparative Compliance certification (possession of FDLE certificate must be submitted prior to becoming a Sworn Police Officer with the Department); Be nineteen (19) years of age at time of application; Be a Citizen of the United States at the time of application; Have the ability to possess a valid Florida Driver's License by time of employment; Have passed the Basic Motor Skills test (valid for six (6) months); Have passed the Swim Test (valid indefinitely); Be a Citizen of the United States at the time of application; Be of good moral character as defined by Florida Administrative Code 11B-27; Have no felony convictions; Not have been dishonorably discharged from the military; Not have an open Internal Affairs Investigation; Not have failed Town of Davie Background Investigation, Oral Board Interview, Polygraph or Psychological Exam within the past year; Not have one or more drivers' license suspensions within five years of the date of this application; Not have steroid usage within three (3) years of the date of this application with the exception of marijuana; Not have used any illegal controlled substances within three years of the date of this application with the exception of marijuana; Not have used marijuana or cannabis in any form within one year of the date of this application; Not have used any tobacco products within six (6) months of the date of this application to include nicotine and E-cigarettes.
