Certified Police Officer

The Town of Pembroke Park is seeking a Certified Police Officer. This position involves general and specialized police work, including law enforcement, crime prevention, and community services.

The role requires the enforcement of laws and ordinances, detection and arrest of violators, and crime prevention. Officers will also be involved in specialized assignments and perform related duties as assigned.

Tasks include patrolling assigned areas, responding to calls for service, securing crime scenes, making arrests, preparing reports, enforcing laws, investigating criminal activity, and providing mutual assistance during emergencies.

The Police Officer should possess knowledge of law enforcement protocols, maintenance of law enforcement tools, criminal justice system principles, and modern police work methods. Skills include the use of handguns, evidence collection, communication, decision-making, physical vigor, and control during stressful situations.

Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, certification as a police officer, active Florida law enforcement certification, a valid Florida driver's license, and successful completion of a pre-employment process.

Special driving and other requirements include maintaining a clean driving record, passing psychological evaluations, and meeting physical and moral character standards.

Physical requirements involve standing, sitting, lifting, walking, running, and working in various environmental conditions. The work environment includes moderate noise levels, confined spaces, and potential exposure to hostile environments.
