Interim Controller

INTERIM CONTROLLER
Location: Elkhart, IN | Onsite

We are seeking an experienced Controller to step into a hands-on role and keep day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting running smoothly. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who can quickly learn an established process, work independently, and partner with leadership.
Responsibilities

Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement review
Prepare and review monthly financial reporting and ensure reports reconcile to the ERP
Review inventory and cost of goods sold, partnering with Purchasing as needed
Review and post weekly payroll activity from ADP
Oversee accounts payable, review invoices and approve items for weekly check runs
Provide oversight of accounts receivable and collections
Track fixed assets and capital projects, including assets/projects in progress
Assist with year-end close and coordinate information and questions with the outside accounting firm
Complete and finalize the annual budget using an established Excel-based budgeting model
Prepare financial information and reporting needed for banking and renewal requirements
Research discrepancies and resolve accounting or reporting issues as they arise

Qualifications

Previous Controller, Accounting Manager, or senior-level accounting experience
Strong hands-on month-end close and financial reporting experience
Experience working within an ERP system
Strong Excel skills
Ability to step into an existing accounting environment and quickly take ownership of processes
Strong attention to detail with the ability to independently research and resolve discrepancies

Preferred

NetSuite experience
ADP experience
Experience with inventory and COGS in a product or manufacturing environment
Experience working with outside auditors/accounting firms and year-end reporting
