EKG Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare (TMH) is a private, nonprofit community-based healthcare system that provides care to a 22-county region in North Florida and South Georgia. Our system also includes a psychiatric hospital, multiple specialty care centers, six residency programs and more than 50 affiliated physician practices.

Completes all types of electrocardiograms in all areas of the hospital. Responds to CRTs and performs EKGs as needed. Performs clerical tasks relating to tasks performed by the Cardiovascular Labs, (scheduling, processing reports, recording pertinent information into logs). Maintains equipment and keep updated. Maintains super user status for Pyramis and Vision Premier.

Reports: Director Cardiovascular Labs, Lead EKG Technician

Supervises: None

This position is for the 7PM to 7AM shift, Friday and Saturday

Required Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent; Preferred: Vocational/technical school degree (job related)

Required Experience: Minimum: No previous experience is required; Preferred: 1 year of Cardiovascular Lab or cardiac related experience; Knowledge of arrhythmias.

Required Certification/License/Registry: Successful completion of Arrhythmia Course required within first year of employment.
