Full-Time Licensed Veterinary Technician - Mamaroneck Veterinary Hospital PetVet Care Centers' Mamaroneck Veterinary Hospital is currently seeking a Full‑Time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join their team. Position Overview As a Full‑Time Licensed Veterinary Technician you will support hospital operations by providing dedicated veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Your responsibilities will include diagnosing animal requirements, conducting examinations, assisting in surgeries, providing nursing care, feeding patients, maintaining supplies, overseeing triage and discharge, and managing patient records. Key Responsibilities Conduct examinations, interviews, review care plans, labs, and imaging to determine animal requirements. Take vital signs, collect samples, administer medications and vaccines, and bandage wounds. Assist in examinations and operations by assembling supplies, securing patients to examination rooms, restraining patients, and providing aid as directed by the veterinarian. Apply full knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, specialized equipment, and drug administration. Obtain and verify medications. Ensure patients have food and water, clean care areas, and observe clinical signs. Fill prescriptions and administer medications, maintaining documentation and security of controlled drugs. Maintain a safe, healthy, humane environment: sterilize instruments, disinfect holding and operating areas, store supplies, and follow legal regulations. Maintain accurate, timely medical records and update databases. Communicate with pet owners about patient status as directed. Maintain equipment, troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance, and arrange repairs. Manage inventory, place orders, verify receipts, and keep records. Participate in educational opportunities and stay current with professional literature. Release pets, ensuring they are clean and groomed, before handing them to owners. Understand and carry out oral and written directions. Perform other duties as assigned by Manager or practice. Schedule Five shifts per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. New York State Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) required.
