Job Title: Production Supervisor
Job Description
This role leads a high-volume production floor in a clean, automated facility, overseeing approximately 60 associates and ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing operations. You will manage production and shipping schedules, drive continuous improvement and lean practices, and partner closely with plant leadership to meet cost, yield, and operational performance goals.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise the daily work of all production employees on the floor, overseeing production and shipping schedules based on the availability of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Provide hands-on leadership by being present on the production floor, mentoring and coaching employees, and addressing employee relations issues in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Support plant administration to ensure compliance with established company policies, procedures, and operating standards.
  • Partner with plant leadership to manage cost and yield performance for the plant, supporting the overall profit and loss objectives.
  • Support and implement cost control initiatives and process control measures to improve efficiency and reduce waste across manufacturing operations.
  • Review operations activities, including local transportation and private fleet-related activities, to maintain compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations (such as OSHA, DOL, DOJ, EPA, FD).
  • Drive safety improvements across the plant, championing a Zero Harm culture and ensuring adherence to safety programs and performance targets.
  • Ensure consistent execution of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) throughout the plant in accordance with the plant management system.
  • Oversee production lines and automation equipment, ensuring smooth operation, minimal downtime, and adherence to production plans.
  • Lead and develop a non-exempt production workforce, including assigning work, monitoring performance, providing feedback, and supporting employee development.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments such as maintenance, quality, logistics, and administration to resolve issues and improve overall plant performance.
  • Apply continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles to optimize processes, improve throughput, and enhance quality.
  • Monitor safety performance and programs, conduct or support safety training, and ensure corrective actions are implemented when needed.
  • Use data analysis and supply chain metrics to make informed decisions about production, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to team leads and associates, ensuring clarity of expectations and accountability for results.
Essential Skills
  • Prior experience in a plant supervisory role within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supervising production lines and automation in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a non-exempt production workforce, including coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience managing safety performance and safety programs in a plant environment.
  • Understanding of supply chain practices, metrics, and basic data analysis to support operational decisions.
  • Familiarity with Lean Thinking concepts and practices, including continuous improvement and process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong customer focus orientation, ensuring production supports quality and service expectations.
  • Strong people management capabilities, including the ability to build effective teams and deliver strong employee engagement.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, logistics, administration, and other support teams.
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills to address operational issues and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Coaching and conflict management skills to guide employees and resolve workplace issues constructively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Project management skills to lead and support operational and improvement initiatives.
  • Proficiency with computer systems and basic software tools used in plant and production management.
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining oversight of outcomes.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience as a production supervisor, operations supervisor, or operations manager.
  • Experience with production management, manufacturing operations, and industrial processes.
  • Familiarity with private fleet management or transportation activities is helpful.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement, process improvement, and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Experience with assembly operations and manufacturing process optimization.
  • Strong supervisory skills and management skills in a high-volume production environment.
  • Comfort working with automated systems and equipment in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to maintain a strong safety mindset and promote a culture of Zero Harm.

Work Environment
This role is based in a pallet repair facility that is described as very clean, modern, and highly automated. You will work in an industrial manufacturing environment that combines production lines and automation equipment, requiring regular presence on the shop floor. The facility emphasizes safety and provides all required personal protective equipment and safety equipment at no cost to employees. The operation includes production and shipping activities, as well as coordination with local transportation and private fleet operations, so you can expect a dynamic environment with a focus on efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement. Specific shift hours may vary, and shift differentials are offered, indicating potential evening, night, or weekend schedules depending on operational needs.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Jacksonville, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $38.00/hr.
