A contract opportunity is available for an experienced pharmacist to provide critical support at a specialty retail pharmacy serving complex patients. The assignment is expected to last 4-6 weeks, starting November 19, until a long-term pharmacist solution is established.

This pharmacy specializes in managing patients with multiple chronic conditions who take 8-15 medications daily, emphasizing the need for strong communication and consultation skills. The ideal candidate will have substantial retail and specialty pharmacy experience, particularly in counseling patients with advanced chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis.

Responsibilities include:

• Accurately dispensing medications and managing prescription orders
• Providing thorough patient consultations with a focus on chronic illness management
• Utilizing Pioneer Rx software for prescription processing
• Demonstrating compassion and patience when assisting Medicare/Medicaid and low-income patients, many with low literacy levels
• Ensuring compliance with all pharmacy laws and regulations

Qualifications:

• Active Ohio pharmacist license
• Proven retail and specialty pharmacy experience, preferably with complex patient populations
• Strong knowledge of 200-400 commonly prescribed retail medications
• Experience counseling patients with chronic diseases explicitly noted in the resume
• Proficiency with Pioneer Rx software highly preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
