A specialty retail pharmacy is seeking an experienced pharmacist to provide exceptional care for patients managing complex chronic conditions. This role requires strong communication skills, patience, and expertise in dispensing and counseling on a wide range of prescription medications, particularly within a specialty retail environment.

Location: Strongsville, OH
Employment Type: Contract (4-6 weeks or until a long-term pharmacist is secured)
Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Start Date: November 19

Responsibilities:

• Counsel patients who often take 8-15 medications daily, ensuring understanding and adherence
• Manage prescriptions for patients with chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis
• Utilize pharmacy software (Pioneer Rx) to accurately process prescriptions and maintain records
• Provide compassionate care tailored to low-income, Medicare/Medicaid populations with potential low health literacy
• Collaborate with pharmacy team members to maintain high standards of pharmaceutical care

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Licensed Pharmacist in Ohio with current, valid license
• Strong background in retail and specialty pharmacy settings, preferably with complex patient populations
• Experience working extensively with patients managing chronic diseases, with this noted explicitly on your resume
• Excellent patient consultation and communication skills, especially with vulnerable populations
• Proficiency with Pioneer Rx pharmacy software is highly preferred
