We are seeking an experienced, highly motivated, and patient-focused Surgery Scheduling Coordinator to join our fast-paced ophthalmology practice. This role supports a high-volume surgical environment and plays a key part in guiding patients through their surgical journey.

Key Responsibilities

• Educate patients on surgical options and related treatment choices as recommended by physicians.
• Support patients in understanding procedure options and helping align selections with their goals and provider recommendations.
• Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures with physicians and surgical facilities.
• Maintain consistent communication with patients throughout the surgical process.
• Manage ordering and tracking of surgical supplies and materials as needed.
• Coordinate all necessary paperwork, authorizations, and scheduling logistics.
• Collaborate closely with physicians, clinical staff, surgical centers, and administrative teams to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality patient care.
• Manage a high-volume surgical schedule while maintaining accuracy, organization, and strong customer service.
• Respond to patient questions regarding preparation, financial responsibilities, and postoperative expectations.
• Track surgical cases and ensure all required documentation is completed prior to scheduled procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in ophthalmology or a surgical specialty preferred.
• Experience with surgery scheduling strongly preferred.
• Strong patient communication and counseling skills.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and scheduling systems.
