Job Title CNC Maintenance Mechanic III Shift Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm (Weekends as Needed) Location Alsip, IL Pay & Benefits Starting pay will be $36.40 per hour. Full‑time hourly position. Job Overview The CNC Maintenance Mechanic is a team member who is efficiently planning, installing, and repairing CNC and manual machines. We seek a reliable professional with strong mechanical aptitude who adheres to safety procedures and ethical standards. The role requires proficiency in blueprint reading and collaboration across teams. Responsibilities Prioritize and adhere to company safety procedures. Promote a culture of safety and report unsafe practices. Maintain a clean and safe workplace in line with preventative maintenance programs. Prepare and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and layouts. Lead equipment installation, removal, or relocation. Interpret hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, troubleshoot, and determine repair needs. Implement Lock Out/Tag Out procedures when servicing machines. Demonstrate excellence in performing all other assigned duties. Requirements At least 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic machines. At least 3 years of maintenance experience, with proven knowledge in CNC and manual machine equipment. At least 2 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, as well as heating, cooling, and general building systems. At least 2 years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints, mechanical prints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams. At least 2 years of experience utilizing measuring devices such as micrometers, gauges, meters, calipers, and other measuring tools. Core Competencies Mechanical aptitude & technical skills: strong understanding and hands‑on experience with precision tools, machinery, and industrial processes, with a focus on safety and continuous improvement. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while fostering a collaborative team environment. Strong verbal and written communication skills, proficiency in speaking and reading English. Strong competency in critical thinking and effective problem‑solving within technical or fast‑paced environments. Exposure to noise, heat, cold, fumes, and chemicals in an onsite industrial manufacturing setting. Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. Ability to kneel, bend, climb a ladder, work in restricted spaces, walk and stand for long periods of time. Ability to work in high elevations (e.g., scissor lift). Preferences HS Diploma or GED equivalent. Travel & Work Arrangements This position will be fully based on site at our Alsip, IL location. Union Relationship We partner with District No. 8 of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. All hourly employees are union members. New employees are regarded as probationary for the first 60 working days of employment. After probation, the employee will join the union with an initiation fee and monthly dues.
