Cardiothoracic PCU Assistant Nurse Manager - Evenings

The hospital was the first adult hospital in Missouri to be certified as a Magnet Hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Position: Cardiothoracic PCU Assistant Nurse Manager (RN). The role provides administrative support to Nurse Managers and direct reports, coordinates patient care, and contributes to staffing, budgeting, and performance management in the Cardiothoracic Progressive Care Unit. Responsibilities Manage staff responsibilities including hiring, training, assignment of work, performance evaluation, and professional development planning. Ensure productivity aligns with department goals. Participate in departmental staffing and budget considerations; respond to changes that affect budget goals. Provide and oversee patient care according to planned interventions, considering age and developmental needs, and document according to policy. Develop and implement collaborative plans of care based on assessment, diagnosis, and medical treatment. Monitor staff hours, prepare payroll updates, reconcile time cards and bonus tracking, and manage staff communications, huddles, and meetings. Determine staffing needs and nursing assignments, including overtime; participate in performance reviews and corrective actions. Ensure staff productivity and achievement of department goals; conduct performance evaluations and recommend improvements. Comply with safety requirements; this is a safety-sensitive position requiring alertness and safe work practices.
