Job Details

Key Responsibilities

Billing & Accounts Receivable
Prepare, review, and finalize client invoices
Track WIP, unbilled time, expenses, and retainers
Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely billing
Process adjustments, write-ups/downs, and credits
Monitor AR and follow up on outstanding balances
Maintain billing records and support monthly billing cycles
Accounting & Month-End Support
Assist with AP, AR, and daily accounting activities
Prepare journal entries and help maintain the general ledger
Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts
Support month-end and quarter-end close (accruals, variance analysis)
Assist with revenue recognition tied to billing activity
Contribute to year-end processes, audits, and ad hoc projects

Qualifications

3-5+ years of accounting, billing, or AP/AR experience (professional services a plus)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Exposure to WIP, retainers, utilization, and project-based revenue models
Experience with billing systems or expense tools
Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivots, reconciliations)
Detail-oriented with strong organization and communication skills
Ability to manage deadlines and handle confidential financial information

Systems & Tools

Time & billing / practice management systems (e.g., Office Tools, Canopy, CCH, Thomson Reuters)
Accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online)
Advanced Excel
