Our systems are supported by staff throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Malaysia, and China.Position SummaryThe electronics engineering technician partners with the manufacturing teams and multiple engineering disciplines across the organization in all areas of mechanical and electrical/electronic design.This position reports to the Electrical Integration Manager of the Functional Test group and is classified as non-exempt according the FLSA (Fair Labor Standards Act).What You'll Be DoingThe electronics engineering technician conducts, maintains, tests and repairs electrical/electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components. The position applies knowledge of electrical/electronics and mechanical principles in determining equipment malfunctions and applies skills in restoring equipment to operation. The electronics technician provides skilled mechanical and electrical/electronic support to all areas of manufacturing as well as field service duties.What You Bring to the TableTo perform this job successfully, you must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, and regular attendance is required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to support individuals with disabilities.Major Areas of AccountabilityTroubleshoots and repairs mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical/electronic equipment, including programmable controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives, gages and test equipmentPlans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipmentInstalls, starts up and shuts down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures for machine activation and shutdown and in line with OSHA requirementsInforms appropriate management of potential electrical/mechanical problems and inherent dangers involvedMaintains company-required performance and maintenance records for identified equipmentPerforms preventive maintenance functions as directedAssists maintenance personnel with technical troubleshootingMaintain TSE Lab EnvironmentAssists and trains other maintenance and other technical-level employeesManages, creates, and perform parts entry into IFS ERP systemConfigures and modifies CCITest sequencesProvides field support at the customer site for test system installation as well as repairsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAn Associate's degree in electronics or related field is required with a minimum of 6 years of work experience in electronics performing similar functions.A thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic components and equipment, including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposesSolid analytical skills; able to resolve complex technical problemsAbility to read and interpret technical drawings (blueprints and schematics) and specificationsRequires a strong initiative, proactive nature and a sense of urgencyMust be able to work in a changing, fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneouslyWorking knowledge of confidentiality and security of intellectual property (ITAR, Prototype)What to Expect at WorkPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The hiring manager will determine the final starting wage (within the range above) based on the successful applicant's qualifications.Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without needing sponsorship for an employment visa (e.g., H1B status).Compensation includes hourly base rate and performance-based quarterly profit sharing.
