Patient Registration Representative

The Patient Registration Representative plays a vital role in providing exceptional customer service to patients, ensuring their satisfaction and well-being. PRRs handle clerical and administrative tasks to support the delivery of quality patient care. They uphold patient confidentiality and follow all relevant regulations to maintain accurate health records.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain the integrity of health records by accurately inputting and retrieving information in the Electronic Medical Record system.
• Schedule appointments, complete pre-registration tasks, verify demographic and insurance information, and ensure accurate billing.
• Identify the need for clinical healthcare staff triage when necessary.
• Coordinate patient flow, ensuring compliance with HIPAA laws and maintaining patient confidentiality.
• Collaborate with the patient care team, provide care coordination services, and contribute to Quality Improvement activities.
• Process prior authorizations, referrals, and provide specialist resource information.
• Track and log patient data accurately.
• Attend required meetings and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Minimum of 1 year of customer service experience in a healthcare setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer literacy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's Degree in a related field.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• 3 years of experience in high-level customer service and relevant healthcare roles.
• Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record systems.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves periods of sitting, standing, walking, bending, and may include lifting up to ten pounds. Evening or weekend work may be required, and there may be job-related stress associated with the position.
