Commercial Litigation Associate

A growing and highly respected New York law firm is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate with 5+ years of experience to join its busy Litigation Practice Group in New York City. This is an outstanding opportunity to work alongside accomplished litigators on a broad range of sophisticated commercial disputes, real estate litigation, partnership conflicts, employment matters, construction disputes, regulatory issues, and complex business litigation. The successful candidate will gain exposure to high-profile matters while working directly with experienced partners representing businesses, investors, developers, and property owners. Responsibilities: Handle all phases of commercial litigation from inception through trial and appeal Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda Conduct legal research and develop case strategy Manage complex commercial disputes involving contracts, partnerships, business torts, and real estate matters Represent clients in state and federal court proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement negotiations Participate in depositions, witness preparation, and court appearances Assist with construction litigation, landlord-tenant disputes, lender liability claims, and commercial foreclosure matters Support clients in employment litigation matters, including discrimination, wage and hour, and workplace disputes Work closely with business owners, investors, developers, and property owners to achieve practical, business-focused outcomes Collaborate with senior attorneys on high-value and high-stakes litigation matters You will be expected to attend the office 5 days a week Qualifications: J.D. from an accredited law school Admission to the New York and New Jersey Bar Minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial litigation Strong experience handling complex business disputes and managing active caseloads Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills Experience drafting substantive motions and conducting discovery Familiarity with state and federal court procedures Strong advocacy, negotiation, and client management abilities Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment Experience with real estate litigation, construction litigation, employment disputes, or business tort claims is advantageous Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills Competitive salary of $180,000 - $225,000 Exposure to sophisticated and high-profile commercial litigation matters Direct mentorship from highly accomplished litigation partners Opportunity to handle significant responsibility and client interaction Collaborative and entrepreneurial firm culture Clear pathway for professional growth and advancement Work with clients across a wide range of industries and business sectors Dynamic New York City office environment Our advertisements use salary and experience as a guide only.
