Lead Full Stack Developer

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Lead Full Stack Developer to provide hands-on technical leadership for a modern web-based platform serving as the enterprise repository and system of record for fresh quality specifications.

This platform allows business users to centrally manage specifications and ensures consistency across enterprise systems, replacing manual and paper-based processes.

The role involves leading both:

• Backend services development using Java/Spring

• Front-end development using React

The services developed will support:

• An Android-based inspection application used in the field

• A web application for managing and viewing specifications

You will lead technical discussions, mentor engineers, improve engineering standards, and deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable full-stack solutions.

The End-to-End Fresh Team delivers technology solutions focused on improving the freshness of fresh foods from farm to customer. The platform currently supports produce and may expand into additional fresh categories over time.

• Experience modernizing or improving production applications

• Understanding of:

  • Data protection concepts

• Proven experience as a technical lead across frontend and backend systems

Key Responsibilities

Full Stack Development

• Lead development across React front-end and Java/Spring backend services

• Design and evolve RESTful APIs supporting web and Android applications

• Build scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions
  

Technical Leadership

• Lead application design discussions and architectural decisions

• Mentor developers through code reviews and technical guidance

• Establish best practices for:

  • API design

  • Testing strategies

  • Documentation

  • Release readiness

Front-End Engineering

• Develop high-quality React applications

• Implement maintainable component architecture

• Improve performance and error handling
  

Collaboration & Planning

• Partner with product leadership on planning and delivery

• Work with architects and tech leads on platform standards

• Contribute to estimation, sequencing, and delivery predictability
  

Documentation & Support

• Maintain technical documentation and design artifacts

• Promote reusable components and shared engineering patterns

• Support production applications and participate in on-call rotation

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience with strong hands-on Java coding

• 7+ years developing RESTful APIs

• 5+ years designing and maintaining APIs in production environments

• 5+ years building modern React applications

• Strong experience with Spring ecosystem:

  • Spring Boot

  • REST APIs

  • Dependency Injection

  • AOP

  • Security fundamentals

• Strong SQL knowledge with experience in SQL & NoSQL databases

• 4+ years experience with CI/CD and automated testing

• Strong Git/GitHub workflow experience

• Experience with Microsoft Azure or similar cloud platforms

• Experience with Docker or container technologies

• Strong communication and collaboration skills in Agile environments
