Hours per week: 40 Position Location: North Carolina, US Proposed Start Date: 06/15/2026 Position Summary The Accounts Payable Accountant role requires knowledge of banking, accounting, business practices, fraud prevention, internal and external communication, administration and analysis in a multi‑faceted departmental unit. Responsibilities include: Reconcile bank accounts and liability accounts in Accounts Payable. Execute the 1099 process and analyze IRS B‑notices, producing required notices to vendors. Oversee pay cycles and ACH bank confirmations, process payroll pay cycles, and recall ACH payments made in error. Contact vendors paid in error to recover funds and communicate the payment schedule. Respond to PRGX inquiries related to outstanding credits. Support campus voucher team during peak seasons, review vouchers over $5,000, and review bi‑weekly wire pay cycles. Serve as primary contact for the virtual card system, enroll new vendors in Bank of America Works, reconcile monthly bank statements for virtual card activity, and facilitate payment of the statement balance. Minimum Education and Experience Mid‑career with a Master’s and 1–2 years of experience; or Bachelor’s with 2–4 years of experience. Required Qualifications Experience with complex reconciliations using multiple software programs and financial management and analysis metrics. Preferred Qualifications CPA and/or MBA with Accounting or Finance concentration preferred. Recent wire and ACH transfer and foreign banking experience. Experience with PeopleSoft/UNC‑CH systems.
