Client Executive - Financial Services
Cabin
Role Overview
The Senior Principal, Client Executive at Cabin Consulting is a senior client and commercial leader responsible for establishing, growing, and scaling Cabin's strategic Financial Services accounts from early-stage relationships into enduring, multi-year partnerships. This role anchors Cabin's Client Growth & Development function and carries day-to-day leadership across our most important client relationships.
This role is accountable for driving strong execution across key accounts — ensuring client health, opportunity progression, delivery alignment, and sustainable growth. While broader portfolio strategy and long-term performance ownership are shared with Cabin's senior leadership, this leader plays a critical role in managing day-to-day outcomes, surfacing risks and opportunities, and enabling high-performing client teams.
In addition, this role will directly own and grow a set of priority accounts, serving as a senior relationship lead and trusted advisor while coaching Client Executives and account leaders as a player-coach.
This position is designed as a growth leadership role with the opportunity to expand into broader portfolio ownership over time as Cabin scales.
Who this role is for
This role is built for someone who has built accounts, not just managed them. Cabin is looking for someone energized by the early, foundational work of establishing relationships, navigating procurement, and earning the right to grow. If your experience is primarily inheriting established books of business or operating within accounts where the foundational infrastructure is already in place, this likely isn't the right opportunity.
About Client Growth & Development
Cabin's Client Growth & Development function is responsible for nurturing long-term client partnerships and driving sustainable account growth. The team leads account planning, opportunity development, executive relationship management, and overall client health — ensuring Cabin delivers exceptional outcomes while expanding meaningful client relationships.
Why Cabin?
At Cabin, we are more than just a digital innovation firm — we are a dynamic, boutique consultancy operating at the intersection of human craftsmanship and AI-driven innovation. Specializing in digital product discovery, design, and delivery, we partner with clients to bring groundbreaking ideas to life and help them navigate what AI means for their business, their teams, and their customers. We believe AI is most powerful when it accelerates people rather than replaces them — keeping humans in the loop, in the decisions, and in the work that matters. As a company, we embrace a culture of deep focus, high-impact problem solving, and long-term partnerships, fostering an environment where innovation and collaboration are at the heart of everything we do.
The name "Cabin" reflects the essence of our work philosophy. Like a cabin in the woods, our space is a sanctuary for thoughtful reflection, creativity, and growth. Here, we remove the distractions of the outside world to focus on what truly matters — creating exceptional products that drive business success. Just as a cabin brings people together in a quiet, welcoming environment, we bring together talented professionals to collaborate, innovate, and achieve extraordinary results. At Cabin, you're not just part of a team; you're part of a community where your ideas are valued, your expertise is elevated, and your career can flourish.
Joining Cabin means taking on high-impact, high-visibility digital and AI initiatives while working alongside a diverse, talented team of strategists, designers, and engineers. You'll have the opportunity to shape the future of digital products and AI-enabled systems, drive transformative change for our clients, and influence the product lifecycle from strategy through execution — always grounded in what's feasible, human-centered, and built to last.
If you're ready to contribute to meaningful work, drive digital and AI transformation, and bring strategic vision to life, Cabin is the place for you.

- Personally build and scale a portfolio of Financial Services accounts, including establishing footholds in new logos and expanding early-stage relationships into anchor accounts.
- Lay the foundational groundwork that makes accounts grow: mapping stakeholder ecosystems, navigating procurement and vendor onboarding, securing MSAs, establishing vendor status, and earning the right to expand across business units.
- Build the trust architecture with executive sponsors, internal champions, and multi-threaded relationships, converting single engagements into long-term partnerships.
- Document what works into repeatable account-building playbooks that other Client Executives can adopt as Cabin scales.

- Maintain visibility into pipeline progression and provide regular updates to leadership.

- Partner closely with Cabin's Services and Operations teams and leaders to ensure delivery excellence, project health, and strong client outcomes.
- Support effective project setup, governance, staffing coordination, and execution in collaboration with delivery leadership.

Partner with leadership, Services, and Operations teams to ensure engagements are structured and delivered in alignment with margin and commercial objectives.

Qualifications
Experience
- 8–12+ years in consulting or professional services, with demonstrated, personal ownership of building Financial Services accounts from early footprints (or net-new) into multi-million-dollar, multi-year relationships.
- Meaningful experience supporting Financial Services organizations (e.g., banking, insurance, fintech, wealth management, or capital markets) through complex transformation initiatives.
- Demonstrated success leading and driving growth of financial services accounts and portfolios, including large, complex enterprises
Direct Sales & Account Management
- Strong background in sales, account development, and client relationship management within Financial Services or regulated environments.
- Track record of multi-threading relationships beyond a single buyer, building executive sponsorship across business, technology, and risk functions.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and drive new business opportunities while managing ongoing client relationships to ensure satisfaction and growth.
- Proven experience owning, expanding, and scaling strategic Financial Services accounts, with accountability for revenue and profitability targets.
- Experience building and managing an evolving portfolio of Financial Services client relationships, balancing near-term delivery success with long-term account growth and expansion.
Relevant Industry & Digital Knowledge
- Deep understanding of digital transformation, digital strategy, and emerging technologies as applied to Financial Services.

- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to align Financial Services client needs with consulting solutions that deliver measurable business value.

- Ability to thrive in a startup or boutique consultancy environment while operating effectively within large, complex Financial Services client ecosystems.
- Energized by the early, unglamorous work of establishing accounts: cold-starting relationships, navigating procurement labyrinths, earning credibility before there's a track record, and persisting through long sales cycles.
- Comfortable operating without the safety net of an established brand presence inside a client; experience using personal credibility, point-of-view, and relationship capital to open doors.
