Sample Librarian

Scalamandré is seeking a full-time Sample Librarian for our Stamford, CT showroom. In this role, you will be the steward of our sample library, a curated collection of luxury fabrics, wallcoverings, and trimmings relied upon by the country’s most discerning interior designers. Working alongside our Account Managers, you will ensure every sample request is fulfilled with precision, every display reflects the standard of the brand, and every client visit feels effortless. Ideal Candidate Profile Exceptionally organized, with a meticulous eye for detail Comfortable in Microsoft Excel and quick to learn new inventory systems Poised and service-minded, at ease with designers and discerning clients Genuinely passionate about textiles, craftsmanship, and interior design Reliable, takes initiative, and stays on top of competing priorities Responsibilities Sample Library & Inventory Management Maintain the showroom sample library, filing returned samples in their correct locations Order, label, and replenish fabric, wallcovering, and trimming samples to keep the library fully stocked Track samples loaned to interior designers and clients; follow up on overdue returns Conduct regular sample counts to keep inventory records and locations accurate Receive and fill sample requests for Account Managers, designers, and clients accurately and on time Pull samples for client appointments; support the sales team on the showroom floor as needed Ship and receive sample packages via UPS and FedEx, ensuring accurate tracking Represent Scalamandré with polish and professionalism in every client interaction Receive and merchandise new collections for showroom displays and wings Maintain displays to the highest standard of presentation, accurate and current at all times Maintain sample and placement spreadsheets; enter new product information as collections arrive Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Strong organizational skills with close attention to detail Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced showroom environment Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs Preferred 1+ year of experience in a showroom, sample library, retail, or inventory role Background or coursework in textiles, interior design, or fashion Experience with an inventory management or ERP system ICHRA - Health Insurance Vision Insurance Great Paid Time Off Policy Company Info: As a legendary American luxury brand, Scalamandré’s mission is to inspire interior designers with beautiful decorative textiles, wallcoverings, trimmings and furniture of the highest quality.
