Senior Reserving Actuary

Location: New York City

Salary: $150K–$200K + 20% bonus

About the Role

Seeking an experienced P&C Actuary with a strong reserving background to lead quarterly reserve analysis across commercial and specialty lines. This role combines technical actuarial work, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead quarterly technical reserve analysis across multiple lines
\n
• Analyze and reconcile large datasets; assess data quality and limitations
\n
• Evaluate reserve movements, trends, assumptions, and key uncertainties
\n
• Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical audiences
\n
• Support reserve governance and financial reporting
\n
• Apply reserving bases including Ultimate, GAAP, SII, IFRS, and US Situs
\n
• Improve reserving processes, tools, and analytics
\n
• Partner with Actuarial, Claims, Underwriting, Risk, and Finance teams
\n
• Mentor and support actuarial colleagues
\n

Qualifications

\n
• 5–8+ years of P&C actuarial experience with a strong reserving focus
\n
• ACAS required; FCAS preferred or near completion
\n
• Commercial and/or specialty lines experience; Specialty Lines and/or Marine a plus
\n
• Strong technical reserving knowledge and sound actuarial judgment
\n
• Advanced Excel/data modeling skills; SQL and/or Python preferred
\n
• Strong analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
\n
