Registered Nurse (RN) II

Houston Methodist Willowbrook Hospital is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) II to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As an RN II, you will provide high‑acuity, evidence‑based nursing care to critically ill adult patients, collaborating closely with intensivists, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to ensure safe, coordinated, and high‑quality care. You will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, formulate and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and therapies, and continuously monitor patients using advanced hemodynamic and cardiac monitoring equipment. The RN II plays a key role in recognizing changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate interventions, and escalating care when necessary to promote optimal outcomes. In this role, you will manage ventilated patients, titrate vasoactive drips, perform complex wound care, follow sepsis and stroke protocols, and adhere strictly to infection prevention and patient safety standards. You will document all aspects of care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record, participate in bedside handoff and multidisciplinary rounds, and provide clear, compassionate communication with patients and their families regarding treatment plans, progress, and discharge needs. The RN II is expected to serve as a clinical resource and role model for newer nurses and support staff, precepting and mentoring when assigned, and contributing to a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
