Travel Surgical Technologist Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,520–$1,640
• Contract: 13-week travel assignment
• Start Date: November 17, 2026
• Assignment End Date: February 13, 2027
• Location: Bangor, Maine
• Schedule: Approximately 36 hours per week
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts, typically 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
• Weekend Expectations: Potential for every-other-weekend coverage or approximately 2–3 weekend shifts during a four-week schedule cycle
• Call: No scheduled call for night-shift staff
• Orientation: Two days with a preceptor
• Work Environment: Operating room serving pediatric through adult patients across a wide range of specialties
• Additional Details: Surgical scrubs provided and free parking available

Operating Room Surgical Technologist Requirements

• At least 1 year of recent operating room Surgical Technologist or OR Tech experience
• Current BLS certification
• CST certification preferred but not required
• Demonstrated experience with a broad range of surgical procedures, including general, orthopedic, trauma, urology, ENT, gynecology, vascular, neurosurgery, ophthalmology, thoracic, maxillofacial, and dental cases
• Ability to work effectively with pediatric and adult patient populations
• Comfort wearing lead protection when required
• Prior travel experience preferred; candidates new to travel may be considered based on relevant operating room experience
• Strong teamwork, communication, organization, and adaptability in a fast-paced perioperative setting

Travel OR Tech Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, instruments, supplies, and equipment for scheduled and emergent procedures
• Provide scrub support while maintaining sterile technique throughout surgical cases
• Support procedures across general surgery, orthopedics and trauma, neurosurgery, vascular, urology, ENT, gynecology, robotics, ophthalmology, thoracic, and other service lines
• Assist with complex cases such as craniotomies, tumor resections, spine procedures, total joints, fracture repairs, vascular interventions, laparoscopic procedures, and robotic surgeries
• Anticipate the needs of surgeons and the perioperative team during each procedure
• Maintain accurate counts and follow all safety, infection prevention, and sterile processing standards
• Help with room turnover, equipment readiness, and efficient workflow between cases
• Collaborate with nurses, anesthesia professionals, physicians, and other surgical team members to support safe, high-quality patient care
