Join us.About the Team: The Avionics team is responsible for the full lifecycle of Terran R’s nervous system, designing, building, testing, installing, and operating the hardware that connects and controls every major electrical system on the vehicle and ground. The team’s structure intentionally combines avionics design, manufacturing, and test to enable rapid iteration and feedback loops. Engineers are deeply embedded into other functions within Relativity, working closely with propulsion, GNC, fluids, and stage engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and operation. Support technician training, certification, and developmentDrive daily production execution, quality assurance, and schedule adherenceCollaborate cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Production Control, and Logistics to ensure material readiness and timely issue resolutionIdentify and implement tools, floor layouts, and capital equipment to improve build efficiency and technician ergonomicsEstablish and track key production metrics (e.g., throughput, cycle time, first-pass yield)Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvementAbout You:Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience3+ years of experience in a production leadership role in aerospace, electronics, or a high-reliability manufacturing environmentDirect experience managing or supporting teams building and/or reworking PCBAs and building electro-mechanical assembliesStrong organizational and problem-solving skills with a focus on executionProven ability to collaborate across departments in a fast-paced environmentStrong computer and analytical skills including proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, shop floor management software (ERP/MRP/MES) or related programs and dashboardsNice to haves but not required: Experience with avionics or aerospace manufacturing standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, NASA-STD-8739)Hands-on experience developing or optimizing manufacturing workstations, tooling, and layoutsExperience with ERP and MES systems for production managementFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar methodologiesStrong technical background in electronics or harness design, build, or testAt Relativity Space, we are committed to transparency and fairness in our compensation practices.
