Benefits Compliance Analyst

Lone Star Legal Search has been exclusively retained to find a Benefits Compliance Analyst for a leading national retirement plan advisory firm serving small and midsize employers and their employees. The firm is looking for a compliance professional with strong health and welfare benefits experience to support its expanding advisory platform. This role reports to the Head of Legal & Compliance. Core Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities Maintaining compliance manuals and policies Understanding anti-rebating and compensation rules Conducting internal audits and testing Reviewing billing practices Ensuring proper documentation and disclosures Monitoring permissible fee-based structures Reviewing benefits services agreements Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 3–7+ years of compliance experience with substantial focus on health and welfare benefits or related insurance compliance. Certified Employee Benefit Specialist® (CEBS) certification, or willingness to obtain certification. Working knowledge of ERISA fiduciary principles and state insurance regulatory frameworks, including billing practices, broker compensation rules, fee disclosures, and anti-rebating laws. Experience managing multi-state licensing, appointments, renewals, and regulatory obligations. Preferred: Experience in a high-growth or high-volume environment. Experience advising on or reviewing fee-based benefits billing models and supporting benefits advisory platforms that intentionally minimize or eliminate commission-based compensation. Experience working at a Registered Investment Adviser (RIA) that brokers health insurance or benefits services Exposure to regulatory scrutiny related to benefits fees, fiduciary status, or prohibited transaction issues. #J-18808-Ljbffr Lone Star Legal Search
