CNC Setup Machinist

This role focuses on setting up and operating CNC mills in a small, hands-on prototype and mold-building shop. You will work primarily on 3-axis mills, with exposure to a 4-axis machine, to support mold manufacturing and short-run production. The position requires a blend of technical CNC setup expertise, G&M code editing, and a willingness to contribute across multiple duties in a collaborative environment.

Set up and operate 3-axis CNC mills and a 4-axis mill to produce molds and short-run production parts. Perform CNC mill setups, including tooling, workholding, offsets, and program loading, to ensure accurate and efficient machining. Use and operate Hurco and Haas CNC mills to complete machining operations according to specifications and drawings. Edit G&M code at the machine to optimize programs, make minor corrections, and improve machining performance as needed. Collaborate with the team to support mold building and machining projects from setup through completion. Assist with programming-related activities for molds and short-run production, leveraging CAM tools and editing capabilities.

At least 3 years of experience in CNC mill setup. Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC mills in a production or prototype environment. Proficiency with G&M code edits at the machine to adjust and refine CNC programs. Experience working with Hurco and Haas CNC mills or similar equipment. Ability to perform multiple duties in a smaller shop environment, including assisting where needed beyond primary responsibilities. Comfort working in a team-oriented setting and openness to feedback from colleagues.

This is a Permanent position based out of Troy, MI. The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $60000.00/yr. Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k, short and long term disability. This is a fully onsite position in Troy, MI. This position is anticipated to close on Aug 8, 2026.
