Senior Mobile Inspector - Kansas City, Missouri

Job Title Senior Mobile Inspector – Individual Contributor Location & Work Mode Kansas City, MO (must reside in the specified city, state, or region).. Travel: 100% of the time. Remote work is offered but only for compliant locations. Compensation Hourly pay rate: $16.88 – $25.34 per hour (varies by location and experience). Annual incentive/commission target: $6,000.00. Primary Duties & Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough vehicle inspections at an expert level on dealer/clients’ lots. Locate, start, move, inspect, and safely return vehicles. Verify vehicle identification: enter accurate VIN, mileage, and sub‑series into the inspection system. Document vehicle equipment, options, and any damage, missing or inoperable items. Record exterior condition, including tires, frame, glass, panels, and mechanical components. Record interior condition, including seats, dashboard, and options. Perform basic mechanical checks on powertrain, drivetrain, and electrical components. Assist junior inspectors with complex inspections and client relationships. Prepare and provide daily activity reports to management. Adjust schedule dynamically for efficient dealer visits. Develop strong knowledge of territorial clients and engage partners to keep them active with Manheim mobile inspections. Use data and insights from partners to maximize the volume of units inspected. Represent Cox Automotive as a brand ambassador, ensuring premier client experience. Collaborate with Wholesale Specialists, peers, and Manheim workgroups for seamless service. Use SalesForce.com for reporting, lead input, and customer performance reviews. Understand NAAA Frame/Structure Damage Policy. Operate in a continuous‑improvement/Lean environment and promote a lean culture. Maintain production expectations set by the leader. Demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures. Participate in safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Experience & Specialist Knowledge and Skills High school diploma or GED and 3+ years of automotive experience. Prior vehicle inspection experience and automotive knowledge (body and mechanical preferred). Strong technical aptitude and attention to detail. Good communication and interpersonal skills. 1 year of service with Manheim Inspections is recommended. Valid driver’s license and safe driving record. 100% travel requirement – reliable transportation and mileage reimbursement program. Motivated to work independently with remote supervision. Ability to multitask, follow directions, and take instructions. Body, paint and mechanical repair knowledge helpful. Familiarity with unibody and full‑frame vehicles helpful. Physical capability to lift and hold at least 30 lbs. at waist level for extended periods. Ability to stand, walk, talk, hear frequently; crouch, bend, kneel to inspect vehicles. Vision to identify minor damage (paint, hail, frame/unibody, interior) under varied lighting. Capacity to execute duties within required timeframes.
