Registered Nurse, PACU Outpatient/Inpatient Surgery (36 hours, Nights)

Position Summary Registered Nurse providing direct patient care in the Menino PACU (Outpatient/Inpatient Surgery) on a 36‑hour schedule, including nights and every third weekend. Responsibilities include nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families across the health‑care continuum. Responsibilities Conduct nursing assessment, diagnosis, and care planning. Administer interventions and evaluate patient responses. Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members, patients, and families. Document and manage care plans in accordance with agency policies, procedures, and standards of practice. Provide patient and family education and support. Ensure quality, safety, and fiscal outcomes in patient care. Education & Licensure Diploma, ASN, or BSN (BSN preferred); must obtain BSN within 4 years if not currently held. Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications. Knowledge and Skills Basic computer proficiency for accessing, entering, and interpreting electronic data. Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills for prioritizing and completing assigned work. Ability to delegate appropriate patient‑care activities efficiently. Capacity to manage stress in critical patient‑care situations. Multilingual ability preferred, especially for patient populations served by the medical center. Analytical ability to solve clinical problems and conduct quality‑improvement projects. Experience 1+ year of nursing experience required. Critical‑care experience (PACU, ED, ICU) mandatory. Previous or current PACU experience strongly preferred. Compensation & Benefits Hourly compensation ranges from $38.05 to $75.33 based on qualifications.
