This role is in Textron System's Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC) business area.ATAC provides tactical flight training and Adversary, Red Air and Aggressor services to the U.S. Navy, Marines and the US Air Force. ATAC operates simultaneously across eight permanent sites spanning the CONUS, Hawaii and the Pacific. ATAC proudly provides the highest quality live training to 4th and 5th Generation aircrew in Squadrons, Air Wings, and Battle Groups conducting unit level continuation training, pre-deployment spin-up training, large force employment training, or aircrew conversion training. ATAC was the first civilian organization to support the USAF's F-22 Raptors as well as the USN's and USMC's F-35 Lightning IIs.The Aircraft Mechanic is responsible for maintenance actions on Airborne Tactical Advantage Company's aircraft as well as the safe and expeditious launch and recovery flight line operations at permanent and detachment sites.Job ResponsibilitiesMaintenance efforts in support of company commitmentsProficient in one type/model aircraft and helper on additional type/model aircraftUtilize AMS programTraining of maintenance personnelManage assigned maintenance programsAssist with coordination of detachment requirements with Crew Chiefs (as necessary)Obtain and maintain Detachment Lead qualificationTroubleshoot malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controlsRepair, replace, and rebuild aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controlsPerform 100-hour, progressive, isochronal, phase, periodic, and other hourly or calendar inspectionsAdjust, repair, or replace electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, perform preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspectionsApply comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures' manualsMust be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projectsAdditional responsibilities as delineated by Production Supervisor and Crew ChiefsManage programs as assignedQualificationsMinimum requirements of this position include, but are not limited to, an A&P certification or at least 5 years of military aircraft maintenance equivalency.Must be capable of performing unsupervised complex maintenance actions and holds or has held a QAR qualification, engine turn qualification or advanced trouble shooting experience. Must be capable of managing assigned additional collateral programs, training junior mechanics on aircraft systems / GOP's / safety practices, competent in the use of specialized tooling and/or test equipment and supervises aircraft servicing.Must be able to lift 50 lbsMust be able to climb in and out of the AircraftMust be able to stand for long periods of timeAt Textron Systems, our talented people make us successful.
