Field Service Engineer I - Semiconductor

About the Role Canon U.S.A., Inc. seeks an entry‑level Field Service Engineer I – Semiconductor in San Jose, CA to support photolithography equipment customers. Key Responsibilities Install, repair, calibrate, and maintain semiconductor process equipment while minimizing downtime. Escalate advanced repairs to senior technicians. Monitor, inspect, and maintain equipment to prevent malfunctions. Document maintenance activity and provide periodic reports. Monitor stock levels of service parts and equipment to ensure adequate inventory. Provide training and assistance to technicians and customers. Participate in ongoing technical training to expand expertise. Required Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; AA or BS in related field preferred. Less than one year related experience (FSE, technician in semiconductor equipment). Valid driver’s license; travel up to 30% domestically and occasional overseas. Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to work flexible and compressed shifts, independently prioritize tasks, and maintain composure in high‑pressure situations. Physical requirements: lift up to 30 lbs, frequent standing, walking, typing, visual acuity for inspection; work in a cleanroom environment (suit, mask, gloves, safety glasses).
