Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in various intensive care units, ensuring optimal health outcomes through advanced patient management and clinical expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' health status and develop individualized care plans based on clinical findings.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and perform complex clinical procedures within scope of practice.
• Float between multiple ICU units including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, and Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, adapting to diverse patient needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and respond to critical situations promptly.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, including float policies, licensing, and safety procedures.
• Document all patient interactions, clinical assessments, and interventions accurately in electronic health records.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license in Virginia or pending license with verification by start date.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent ICU experience, including familiarity with Epic electronic health records.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Ability to float across multiple ICU units within scope of practice.
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work in high-pressure environments.
• Must be able to work night shifts (3x12-hour nights) and adhere to scheduling requirements.
