Scientist I, Computational Protein Design

Generate Biomedicines seeks a Computational Protein Design Scientist to develop therapeutic proteins using computational design, machine learning, and experimental biology. The role bridges computational platform teams with therapeutic programs, translating design hypotheses into experimental campaigns and feeding insights back to improve platform capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Execute end-to-end computational protein design campaigns to support therapeutic programs
• Identify capability gaps and translate application learnings into improved design methods and workflows
• Interface between computational model development and experimental validation teams
• Develop and apply agent-enabled computational workflows connecting design models, data, and tools
• Communicate data-driven design recommendations that connect molecular findings to program decisions

Requirements

• PhD in protein engineering, biochemistry, bioengineering, molecular biology, computational biology, or bioinformatics
• Demonstrated protein design strategy experience in de novo design, optimization, or antibody engineering
• Strong understanding of protein sequence, structure, and their relationship to function
• Experience designing experiments and interpreting complex biological datasets for protein design
• Working proficiency in Python and reproducible computational workflow development
• Strong scientific judgment and ability to make decisions with incomplete information
