Cardiac and Vascular Technologist

Centered in a vibrant community, this position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a leading healthcare provider. As a Cardiac and Vascular Technologist, you will perform, assist, and complete radiographic examinations related to cardiac and vascular procedures.

Job Summary

The role involves operating complex imaging equipment to produce superior digital images for diagnostic evaluation and treatment. You will work in a cardiovascular lab and perform active radiographic interventional procedures while providing high-level clinical care.

Essential Functions

• Operate diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast-enhanced radiographs of the heart and cardiovascular system during cardiac catheterization.
• Position and immobilize patients correctly using head and shoulder braces, adhering to specified protocols.
• Assist physicians with specialized procedures, ensuring a high level of technical expertise.
• Model, mentor, and train staff on technical skills and operational procedures.
• Contribute to hiring and promotion decisions for technical staff.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Associate's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience; Bachelor's Degree in radiologic technology or a related field preferred.
• A minimum of three years' technical experience preferred.
• Experience as a Special Procedures Technologist is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification preferred.
• Radiologic Tech (RT) certification in the state of practice is required.
• Current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) from an approved vendor is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required as per organizational policy.
• Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) certification is required.
• Fluoroscopy (FLUORO) certification is required.
• Certification in Prevention and Management of Violent Behavior (PVMB), or Techniques for Effective Aggression Management (TEAM), or Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) is required.

Schedule and Call Requirements

This position involves variable shifts, including options such as 7 AM - 5:30 PM, 8 AM - 6:30 PM, and 9 AM - 7:30 PM. On-call duties may include after-hours responsibilities and every other weekend. Specific details regarding the schedule and call requirements will be discussed during the interview process.
