Location: Houston, TX 77045
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM
Overtime: Must be available to work overtime as needed
Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled TIG Tack Welder to join our manufacturing team in Houston. This position will focus on fitting, preparing, and tack welding stainless-steel components using GTAW/TIG welding processes .

The ideal candidate will have experience welding 304L stainless steel , be comfortable working with precise measurements and tolerances, and have a strong focus on weld quality and minimizing distortion.

Key Responsibilities

• Fit and tack weld stainless-steel coupons and production components.
• Clean and properly prepare materials prior to fit-up and welding.
• Perform TIG/GTAW welds according to established specifications.
• Complete single-pass, full-penetration welds using ER308L filler material .
• Perform welding with required back purging .
• Maintain proper alignment and fit-up between components.
• Produce clean, consistent welds while minimizing distortion.
• Follow all welding procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
• Inspect completed welds and identify potential defects or quality concerns.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Work overtime as needed based on production requirements.

Welding Requirements

Candidates should be comfortable working with:

• 304L stainless steel
• GTAW/TIG welding
• ER308L filler material
• Single-pass, full-penetration welds
• Back-purge welding
• Precision fit-up and tack welding

Weld Test

Candidates may be required to complete a weld test involving:

• Two 4" OD x 0.065" wall x 3.87" ID 304L stainless-steel coupons
• 1G welding position
• GTAW/TIG process
• Approximately 0.010" deposit thickness
• Single-pass, full-penetration weld using ER308L
• Back purge required
• Focus on producing a quality weld with minimal distortion

Testing may include visual inspection, liquid penetrant (LP), and radiographic testing (RT).

Production Components

Production welding will involve:

• 10.750" outside diameter
• 0.078" wall thickness
• 304L stainless steel

• TIG/GTAW welding experience
• Experience working with stainless steel

• Ability to accurately fit and tack components
• Ability to follow detailed welding specifications
• Dependable and safety-conscious
• Comfortable working in a production environment
• Available to work overtime when required
