Staff Accountant

Job Summary A well known organization in the engineering services industry is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant to support general accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. This contract/temporary Staff Accountant opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys accurate financial work, cross-functional collaboration, and contributing to a stable accounting team. Key Responsibilities Perform bank reconciliations, credit card reconciliations, and general ledger account reconciliations. Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expenses, amortization, and other month-end adjustments. Reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting. Maintain fixed asset records, depreciation schedules, and related accounting documentation. Assist with month-end close, year-end close, audits, tax preparation, and financial reporting. Support special accounting projects, process improvements, and financial analysis as needed. Compensation and Benefits Pay range: $30.00 to $40.00 per hour. Job type: Contract/Temporary. Location: Cypress, CA, Orange County area.
