JOB DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Department: Tool Room Reports To: Maintenance Manager EEO Code: 6- Craft WorkerFLSA: Hourly __________________________________________________________________________________________________________Position SummaryThe Industrial Maintenance Mechanic ensures production efficiency and product quality by maintaining and repairing machinery and mechanical equipment. This role supports Standard Locknut's POWER culture by being Positive, Open, Winning, Energetic, and Resilient in daily operations and problem-solving.Essential FunctionsEnsures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by performing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.Demonstrates resilience by proactively identifying and addressing mechanical issues, minimizing downtime, and ensuring operational continuity.Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for issues, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.Removes defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, and hand/power tools, examining form and texture of parts.Determines changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts, using rules, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.Controls downtime by communicating proactive maintenance techniques to production workers and ensuring compliance.Fabricates repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.Demonstrates a winning mindset by continuously improving maintenance processes and troubleshooting methods.Maintain inventories by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.Provides mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing maintenance data and trends.Expands technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and networking.Fosters collaboration by documenting and communicating maintenance actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs.Ensures a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Contributes to a positive team environment by embodying the POWER culture and accomplishing related tasks as needed.Job SkillsAbility to read part manuals, electrical and mechanical schematics, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting guides.Familiarity with Okuma, Fuji, Haas, Mori Seiki, and Mazak CNC machinery.Experience with FANUC, Siemens, Mitsubishi, Haas, and Okuma controls.Demonstrated expertise in industrial mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.Knowledge of CNC machine design and operation.Proficiency with electrical test equipment, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems up to 480 Volts AC.Commitment to fostering a Positive and Open work culture by actively engaging with colleagues and supporting team objectivesPhysical RequirementsLifting, pushing, pulling, leveraging, hoisting, or carrying 40 pounds or more on a regular basis.Lifting, pushing, pulling, leveraging, hoisting, or carrying 70 pounds or more on an occasional basis.Ability to stand, climb, move under, over, and around machinery as necessary.Frequent bending, squatting, and reaching (below and overhead).Ability to move freely about the machine shop.Physical Work EnvironmentExposure to continuous machine noise and HVAC systems.Exposure to dust, oil, and chemicals.Compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
