Job Category Underwriting Compensation Overview The annual base salary range is $153,700.00 – $253,700.00. Total compensation may vary based on factors such as scope, complexity, location, skills, education, and performance‑based incentives. Target Openings 1 Opportunity The role is listed as an AED (Account Executive Director) but can be offered as a Senior Underwriter depending on experience. National Accounts provides casualty solutions for high‑risk clients across workers’ compensation, liability, and commercial automobile coverage. The AED will partner with agents, brokers, and customers to deliver cost‑effective, loss‑sensitive coverage for new and renewal business. What You Will Do Manage profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business of highly complex accounts. Underwrite and negotiate the most complex customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability. Build and maintain relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and cross‑sell opportunities. Meet with agents, brokers, and customers in person to market and sell Travelers products; travel is required. Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills. Develop and execute agency sales plans and partner with the Managing Director to develop region/group plans. Coach, mentor, and provide strategic underwriting counsel to underwriters at all levels. Perform other duties as assigned. Ideal Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree. 8–10 years of underwriting experience, including National Accounts. Expert‑level knowledge of National Accounts products, regulatory environment, and local market. Deep financial acumen. Strong critical thinking skills and ability to proactively identify underwriting, marketing, or financial challenges. Excellent communication and negotiation skills with agents and brokers. CPCU designation. Must Have Five years of underwriting experience. Benefits Health Insurance – coverage for employees and eligible family members from day one.
