Support Engineer II
Virtual Vocations Inc
Working remotely on a contract basis, the Support Engineer II will monitor and support mainframe, open systems, and server backup production schedules, providing troubleshooting and problem remediation to maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Key Responsibilities Monitor, support, and troubleshoot production schedules and workflow for operating issues Triage problems and take corrective action to ensure availability and minimize downtime Assist with the deployment of new software to various test and production platforms Required Qualifications An undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent work experience of 1-3 years Experience with multiple hardware and software technologies including Windows, UNIX, MVS, and IBM mainframe Knowledge of IBM Scheduling and JCL for job restart Familiarity with Tape Storage Management (TSM) or other backup software products Flexibility to work weekends and holidays in a 24x7 working environment
