Material Handler

General Summary The general scope of this position’s responsibility is to operate a forklift and move finished product skids from the production line and stock the line with necessary materials needed for production. Essential Job Functions Move finished product from production line using forklift. Utilize scanners to move materials in/out of inventory. Stock production line with raw materials. Weigh all scrap boxes and load onto scrap truck. Removal of all trash in the plant and put in dumpster. Unload trucks bringing raw materials into the plant. Labeling skids to take to staging area. Drive forklift as needed to move skids and/or supplies in a safe manner. Wear seatbelt at all times when operating forklift. Perform daily inspection of forklift and report needed repairs to maintenance. Other tasks as assigned by supervisor. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to understand/communicate English in oral and written form. Ability to read and understand a production schedule. Ability to pass a forklift-driving test. Ability to operate forklift in a safe manner. Ability to work a rotating shift. Ability to wear all PPE (personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hearing protection and steel-toed shoes). Education and Experience Basic math skills. Knowledge of DC link is a plus. 3+ years as a material handler preferred. Ability to read, write, hear and speak English proficiently.
