Responsibilities
- Provide unit-based leadership, supervising nursing and ancillary staff and coordinating with the Nurse Manager/Director, physicians, and other team members.
- Ensure delivery of cost-effective, professional care with positive patient outcomes and high safety standards; monitor and work to improve patient satisfaction.
- Initiate and coordinate care planning; lead conferences with health professionals, patients, and families; adjust care plans as needed.
- Direct and monitor staff performance during patient care activities; participate in direct patient care when necessary.
- Promote patient- and family-centered care with attention to cultural diversity; conduct rounds, gather feedback, and implement quality improvements with the leadership team.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards; engage in rounds to assess patient needs and support continuous improvement.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; Master’s Degree preferred
- Five years of technical nursing experience preferred; at least five years total experience; two or more years of recent clinical experience; two or more years of supervisory/charge nurse experience required
- Certifications: BLS required; ACLS required; NRP required; AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring within last 2 years; Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) required
- Epic experience required or proficient
- Ability to work in a high-acuity, fast-paced short-term acute care environment; night shift availability
- Willingness to participate in ongoing credentialing and onboarding requirements
