We offer a supportive, inclusive work environment with industry-leading benefits. Responsibilities Chair side dental support for dentists, dental students, or dental hygienists. Educational support for dental students in techniques of four-handed dentistry and use of chair side dental assistant. Assistance in post-operative care, such as removal of post-extraction and surgical dressings and sutures, IV sedation set up, monitoring sedated patients. Assist in specialist procedures requiring a dental microscope, fitting, bonding and removal of orthodontic appliances. Pouring, trimming and scanning of models, soft denture reline, and fabrication of interim prosthesis or other oral appliance. Record keeping via EHR documentation including medical history, examination findings, and treatment procedures. Rotation of schedule coverage for clinics and operating rooms as needed. Required Qualifications Completion of an approved Dental Assistant training program and either two years of chair side experience in an Advanced Specialty or three years of chair side experience in an Advanced Specialty. Certification by the Oregon State Board of Dentistry for Radiological Proficiency. BLS from AHA required. New hires will enroll in an OHSU training course during onboarding. Recent experience as a dental assistant in an advanced specialty within the last five years. Ability to perform essential functions of the position with or without accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Advanced specialty dental assisting certifications such as EFDA, EFODA, DAANC, dental anesthesia certification or other sedation/surgical advanced certifications.
