Union Local IBEW 1049 Summary No Data Provided Job Duties & Responsibilities Independently perform the highest skilled work associated with the diagnosing, testing, inspection, maintenance, repair, adjustment, installation, and operation of Facilities Management building systems and equipment. Install, operate and maintain heating, ventilating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, instrumentation and controls, electrical, water and sanitary plumbing, pneumatic systems, fire protection and detection and security systems such as computerized energy management/HVAC electronic, mechanical and pneumatic controls, electrical switchgear/motor control centers, electric motors, uninterrupted power supplies and associated batteries, emergency generators, fire detectors and associated controls, security camera's, card key access equipment, overhead cranes, refrigeration and air compressors, condensers, evaporators, heat pumps, fans, boilers, manual, pneumatic and electrical valves and H20, C02 and Halon fire protection equipment. Perform all phases of chemical analysis and associated treatment on boilers, closed cooling systems and cooling towers. Perform routine duties such as changing charts and recording data. Meet with other departments to resolve problems, and implement corrective actions and procedures. Evaluate and diagnose the effect of equipment and/or system outages on other departments. Perform similar or less skilled work as required. Availability is a key position requirement for both normal and emergency events. Job Qualifications High school diploma or GED 5 years of experience Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driving record Comprehensive understanding of building systems including electric, plumbing, and HVAC - must have Universal EPA 608 Certification Some positions at PSEG require access to information covered by the Department of Energy’s regulation 10 CFR 810 (Part 810).
