OK-SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital Midwest Job Summary This position plans, coordinates, and implements care for adult patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab, ensuring quality, efficient, and safe care in line with unit standards. Primary Responsibilities Perform on the Cath Lab procedure team as circulator, scrub, or monitor. Prepare patients for procedures, ensuring proper pre‑p. Retrieve necessary patient information, such as History & Physical, in a timely manner. Use critical judgment to analyze patient assessments, administer medications to all patients (including critically ill), and report abnormal findings promptly. Perform hemostasis safely with or without vascular devices. Enter and verify patient orders and charges for accuracy. Provide independent, compassionate care to critically ill patients in stressful situations. Educate patients and families based on assessed needs, documenting all education and keeping them informed of tests and treatments. Provide clear instructions to patients on what to expect during the perioperative procedure. Escort families to the cardiology or Cath Lab area when needed. Perform point‑of‑care testing per policy and procedure. Maintain a constant state of alertness and commitment to safety. Perform other duties as assigned. Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or equivalent education for licensing. Experience No prior experience required. Physical Requirements Constant use of speech for oral communication. Constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of objects weighing 0–25 lbs. Frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard/data entry. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify colors. Frequent use of smell to detect odors. Frequent use of hearing for oral communication and alarms. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling of objects weighing 25–50 lbs. Occasional lifting/moving of patients. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive foot/leg or hand/arm movements. Occasional driving. Rare crawling and running.
