Our food menu, brought to life by the team behind the renowned Jungle Bird, is thoughtfully crafted to evoke the region’s rich culinary traditions, featuring fresh seafood, locally sourced produce, and bold, earthy flavors. Each dish is designed to complement our meticulously curated cocktail offerings, creating a cohesive and immersive dining experience. At Shy Shy, we aim to blend innovation with comfort, providing a unique dining journey that delights the senses.
Position Overview: We are seeking skilled Line Cooks to strengthen our kitchen team. You will be integral in executing our menu with precision and creativity, ensuring every dish represents Shy Shy's commitment to quality. This position is perfect for those who thrive in a bustling kitchen environment and are eager to contribute to a dynamic culinary team. The role is for 4 shifts a week at the moment: Tuesday-Friday averaging 8 hour shifts. If you have any questions regarding this you could infer when applying.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare High-Quality Dishes – Follow recipes and presentation specifications to craft outstanding dishes.
- Maintain Kitchen Efficiency – Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely preparation and service of all dishes.
- Uphold Food Safety Standards – Adhere to food hygiene and safety standards to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Ingredient Prep – Assist in prepping ingredients for service, ensuring all items are available and ready for use.
- Kitchen Maintenance – Participate in regular cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment and areas.
Qualifications:
- Experience – Proven experience as a line cook in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- Skills – Strong understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Efficiency – Excellent time management abilities with a proven ability to handle multiple orders smoothly and quickly.
- Teamwork – Ability to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and support other team members.
- Availability – 4-5 shifts per week
