Job Description The CAS Staff Accountant is a mid-level professional responsible for maintaining the financial records for a variety of clients. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert in QuickBooks Online, ensuring that client data is accurate, reconciled, and ready for management review. Responsibilities QuickBooks Online Management: Serve as the primary user for client QuickBooks Online files, ensuring all data is entered accurately and troubleshooting technical issues within the platform. General Ledger Maintenance: Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations and record necessary journal entries. Financial Preparation: Assist in the production of periodic financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, ensuring compliance with appropriate accounting frameworks. Month-End Support: Assist the CAS Manager with month-end and year-end closing processes for clients. Tax Compliance Support: Prepare data for sales tax filings and assist with the preparation of annual 1099 reports. Process Efficiency: Identify opportunities to streamline client accounting workflows through the use of integrated QuickBooks apps and paperless tools. Collaborative Support: Work closely with CAS Clerks to oversee accurate transaction coding and provide backup support for complex accounts payable or receivable issues. Audit Readiness: Organize and provide documentation to external auditors as directed by management. Qualifications QuickBooks Online Expertise: Extensive, demonstrable experience working within QuickBooks Online is required for this role. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration required. Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with a particular emphasis on Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas). Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with both clients and internal management.
