Room Attendant

The Room Attendant will ensure that assigned rooms are fully stocked, cleaned, and serviced to a high standard. Also maintain cleanliness and appearance of all public spaces within the hotel. Promptly address guests queries and resolve guest complaints within scope of responsibilities. Responsibilities Greeting guests and responding to queries. Making beds in guest rooms. Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, water, coffee, writing supplies, and bathroom supplies in guest rooms. Cleaning rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas. Cleaning rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies using a vacuum cleaner. Dusting furniture and equipment. Polishing metalwork, such as fixtures and fittings. Washing walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills. Emptying wastebaskets, ashtrays, transporting trash and waste to the disposal area. Replacing light bulbs. Collecting soiled linens for laundering and receiving and storing linen supplies in the linen closet. Loading articles into the washer and adding the specified amount of detergent or other cleaning agent. Lift clean, wet articles from the washer and placing them successively into wringers and dryers for measured cycle times. Sorting dried articles according to identification number or type, folding, and putting them in appropriate storage bins. Reporting any technical issues and maintenance needs. Updating the status of guest rooms on the assignment sheet. Returning and restocking the cleaning cart at shift end. Complying with all housekeeping policies, procedures, and standards. Performing required physical activities, including standing or sitting for extended periods, lifting and carrying items, and bending, twisting, and reaching as needed. Other duties as assigned. Key Strengths for Success Ability to carry out specific oral or written instructions, frequently following a simple routine. Ability to perform repetitive actions consistently. Professional Experience Previous housekeeping or custodial experience preferred but not required. Academic Background High school diploma or equivalent required.
