Embark on a rewarding full-time contract role supporting students in an educational setting near Joliet, IL! We are seeking dedicated Paraprofessionals ready to make an immediate impact in classrooms, working closely with students who have Autism and various behavioral needs. This opportunity covers a diverse population, ranging in age from early childhood to young adulthood (3-21 years old), and involves collaborating with both classroom groups and serving as an individual aide.
You’ll support a dynamic team of educators, providing essential assistance from the ASAP start date through the end of the current school year, with the potential to extend into the 25/26 school year. This position offers steady daytime hours—Monday through Friday for a total of 32 hours weekly—making it ideal for those seeking stability and routine in their professional lives.
Qualifications:
- Active PEL or Para Certification required
- Experience working with students with Autism and behavioral challenges strongly preferred
- Comfortable supporting a range of ages and disabilities
- Ability to adapt to changing classroom environments
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Responsibilities:
- Serve as both classroom aide and individual support for students
- Implement behavior management strategies under teacher direction
- Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive atmosphere for all learners
- Assist with classroom activities, organization, and documentation
- Provide direct support for academic, social, and personal care needs as appropriate
