Job Title: Independent Bookkeeper / Accounts Payable Contractor

Location: Boca Raton, FL — one day per week in office, or as reasonably needed

Engagement Type: Independent Contractor

Estimated Commitment: Approximately 16–22 hours per week, based on workload and agreed deliverables

Compensation: $28.00–$33.50 per hour, based on experience and scope of services

About the Role

We are seeking an organized, reliable, and detail-oriented independent Bookkeeper / Accounts Payable Contractor to provide bookkeeping and accounts-payable services for a single-family office. This engagement is expected to require approximately 16–22 hours per week, depending on workload and agreed deliverables.

The contractor will attend the Boca Raton office approximately one day per week, or as reasonably needed, to process physical mail and checks, organize records, and coordinate on open items. The remaining services may be performed remotely.

The ideal contractor has advanced, hands-on QuickBooks experience and practical experience processing invoices and payments through BILL (formerly Bill.com).

Scope of Services

• Maintain accurate financial records and provide agreed bookkeeping support for month-end close, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Enter, classify, and record financial transactions accurately in QuickBooks.
• Manage agreed accounts-payable services through BILL, including invoice intake, coding, approval routing, and payment scheduling.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit-card accounts, and vendor statements.
• Maintain organized vendor records, accounts-payable documentation, and supporting financial files.
• Process incoming financial mail, organize records, and coordinate on open items during on-site workdays.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and payment-status requests.

Qualifications

• 3–4+ years of bookkeeping and/or accounts-payable experience.
• Advanced, hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Desktop.
• Experience using BILL for invoice processing and vendor payments.
• Ability to attend the Boca Raton office approximately one day per week, as needed.
• Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage work independently and meet agreed deadlines.

Independent Contractor Terms

• Contractor will control the manner and timing of the services, subject to agreed deadlines, deliverables, and on-site coordination needs.
• Contractor may provide services to other clients and is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, tools, and business expenses.
• Contractor will submit invoices for services rendered.
