Quality Control Associate

The Quality Control Associate is responsible for conducting quality inspections to ensure products consistently meet established company standards, engineering specifications, and customer requirements. This position supports the organization's Quality Management System by maintaining product quality, production efficiency, accurate quality documentation, and compliance with established procedures. The Quality Control Associate takes ownership of inspection activities, quality reporting, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation to perform accurate dimensional and visual inspections.
• Conduct first article, incoming, in-process, and final inspections to verify products meet established quality standards with minimal supervision.
• Inspect supplier materials, incoming supplies, components, hardware, and other materials during the receiving process to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Perform scheduled and as-needed quality inspections throughout manufacturing and production areas.
• Accurately collect, record, maintain, and report inspection data and quality documentation.
• Verify that measurement and inspection equipment is properly calibrated and that calibration requirements are current.
• Identify, document, and communicate nonconforming materials or products in accordance with established quality procedures.
• Prepare and maintain quality documentation, including quality alerts and other required reports.
• Communicate quality concerns, equipment issues, process deviations, and other potential problems to Team Leads or Supervisors.
• Help maintain product quality, workplace safety, inventory accuracy, and production efficiency.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety policies and procedures.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers and provide guidance or training when appropriate.
• Support quality management systems, policies, and procedures while participating in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• 1-2 years of quality control, inspection, manufacturing, or related experience required.
• Experience in an ISO-regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 applications, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Experience using handheld precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, Pi tapes, angle gauges, height gauges, and similar equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, and dimensional requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately inspect, document, and communicate quality findings.
• Basic mathematical skills with the ability to perform measurements, calculations, and dimensional comparisons accurately.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Production, Engineering, Quality, and other internal teams.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement.
• Experience working with ERP systems preferred.
• Experience working in a growing organization or small-company manufacturing environment preferred.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

• Ability to work for extended periods in an industrial or warehouse manufacturing environment, including production lines and areas with uneven walking surfaces and motorized industrial equipment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and regularly perform activities including climbing, stooping, bending, reaching, and working at waist level.
• Ability to occasionally use ladders or perform work from elevated areas.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, which may include safety glasses, hearing protection, respirators, and other designated protective equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally and approximately 20 pounds on a regular basis.
• Requires adequate hearing, vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, mobility, coordination, and manual dexterity to safely perform essential job duties.
