Federal Litigation Paralegal – Commercial Litigation

Green Meadows Partners is recruiting for an experienced Federal Litigation Paralegal to join a well-established Knoxville law firm specializing in complex commercial and business litigation.

This position will support a dedicated litigation team consisting of one partner and two associate attorneys. The practice handles sophisticated disputes involving contracts, finance, trade secrets, real estate, healthcare, and other business matters.

We are seeking a highly experienced paralegal who is comfortable managing complex litigation matters, preparing detailed legal documents, tracking critical deadlines, and supporting attorneys through trial and appeal.

The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and confident taking ownership of responsibilities in a busy litigation practice.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation calendars, filing requirements, and court and discovery deadlines.
• Draft, prepare, and finalize pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery documents, and correspondence.
• Handle electronic filings in Tennessee state and federal courts.
• Prepare expedited filings, including TROs and preliminary injunctions.
• Draft written discovery and discovery responses.
• Organize document productions, including Bates labeling, redaction, and handling confidential materials.
• Summarize depositions, records, and other case materials.
• Prepare exhibits, trial notebooks, hearing materials, and records on appeal.
• Format and cite-check trial and appellate briefs.
• Coordinate with attorneys, experts, witnesses, co-counsel, and other parties.
• Conduct factual and legal research.
• Provide litigation support during hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Manage competing priorities and communicate proactively with attorneys regarding deadlines and workload.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of litigation paralegal experience required.
• Experience with complex commercial or business litigation strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure, Tennessee Rules of Civil Procedure, and local court rules .
• Demonstrated experience with federal and state court e-filing.
• Strong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery, and deadline management.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Experience with tables of authorities, document formatting, and track changes.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Pro, including Bates labeling, redaction, bookmarking, and PDF preparation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while supporting multiple attorneys.

Preferred Qualifications

• 10–15 years of litigation paralegal experience.
• Extensive complex commercial litigation experience.
• Bachelor's degree or ABA-approved paralegal certificate.
• NALA or NFPA certification.
