Job Description:

The Banquet Bartender is responsible for providing guests at banquet events with exceptional beverage service, maintaining the highest standards of hospitality. The role focuses on exceeding guest expectations through excellent service, ensuring an efficient and seamless bar operation during events.

Reports To: Banquet Manager / Assistant Banquet Managers

Pay Range: $18.00 an hour

Responsibilities:

• Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with training and manager instructions.
• Close the bar only when signaled by the manager, ensuring all closing duties are followed.
• Properly set up the bar area, including glasses, stirrers, napkins, wine openers, side towels, juices, fruits, liquor, beer, wine, soft drinks, ice, water, and other required items listed on the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
• Break down the bar at the end of the event, ensuring all equipment is returned to the proper storage area and the bar is left clean and dry. Call the manager to inspect the bar before leaving.
• Follow and reinforce the service vision for The Palace, ensuring guest satisfaction.
• Foster a positive and cooperative relationship with co-workers, maintaining a courteous attitude towards guests, management, and other employees.
• Follow all house rules, safety regulations, and company standards.
• Keep current on guest preferences and proactively seek opportunities to enhance their experience and exceed their expectations.
• Ensure that the bar station is set up and clean before guests arrive.
• Maintain proper uniform standards and personal grooming, adhering to company guidelines.
• Be available for all types of functions, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, receptions, dances, coffee breaks, and other events as they arise.
• Call the banquet department each Friday to receive the final schedule for the following week.
• Report to the assigned work area on time, in uniform, and ready to work.
• Attend pre-meal briefings for each event, reviewing banquet event orders and work assignments.
• Introduce yourself to guests on your station with a warm, cheerful, and enthusiastic attitude, offering excellent service.
• Wear a nametag as part of your uniform at all times.
• Perform other reasonable tasks as requested by management.
• Communicate with the manager regarding event details and make adjustments as needed based on guest requests or last-minute changes.
